I own WinRAR Power ISO and WinZip amongst others of a similar type and never have those programs installed crapware on my systems. Winzip managed to stick speed dial on there for a few minutes but I soon uninstalled it. 7Zip is very good, has a native 64 bit version, will open ISO and also Windows Themes if you are into that kind of thing. (I would never do that just to get at the pictures).

Unchecky offers some protection against installing crapware and toolbars.

Some of these programmes - eg Any Video Converter are free to download but not fully use. Can those posting keep to the subject - free programmes to use in full. Applies to Registry Reviver as well.

Yep, some 100% free programs may have limitations on them, while their pay for versions do not. It's just a matter of if the free version will meet your needs or not.

If not, then there are plenty of other free programs to use instead. :)

The intro says "These are completely FREE programs for Windows 7".
When they are not Make it clear initially and for each prog how restricted they are. Eg Any Video Converter probably puts a watermark in the middle of the screen. And Registry Reviver only fixes 25 items for free.

AVC was completely free to begin with. It is only recently that any such restrictions have been applied. This is true for a number of others as well.

It's impossible to always keep up with all changes that programs may restrict how much you can do with it's free version, but they are still 100% free. It's best to read the details at the program's sites instead.

Now, if a program changes to be a trial or is wanting to install anything suspicious during it's installation or usage, then we would most certainly want to remove it from the list.
