    Software install problems

I just installed 7 and am trying to get all my programs back installed. When i try to install steam it says that the installation package cannot be opened. It also says both aim and digsby are not readable win32 files.
at this point im sure ill have other problems but if anyone has ideas on these that would be great
    thanks

How did you install Windows 7? Clean or upgrade?

First things first. Could you fill out your system specs (lower left corner) so we know what kind of hardware yo have. Was it a clean install? 32bit, right?

    thanks

to check device drivers go into device manager (type device manager in search) and see if they are installed and working correctly. Any unknown (yellow triangles) need to be upgraded/installed.

Re the game re-installs. Are you using the same instlaler or have you tried downloading a new copy? Might have to install the games in vista compatabilty mode (rught-click goto compat tap and check)

    Hope this helps\

The installer you are downloading, is it 32 bit or 64? do they have a 64bit? To install in vista compat mode right click installer and go to compat mode then check. See pic
