    I just need a good software solution to make my RAM act as a virtual harddrive its not a mission critical system.

    Not being familiar with ramdisk in win 7 I went out and looked for and found one that is both free and runs in win 7 (32 bit verified by me). there is an article and download here Free Ramdisk for Windows Vista, XP, 2000 and 2003 Server » My Digital Life.

    You should give RamDisk Plus a try. It works fine on my x64.

    i use the Software/RAMDisk - Products & Services - Dataram in my Win 7 x64, it runs fine and its free
