    Which should I choose when isntalling software (ex: photoshop filters/plug-ins)?

    What is the difference?

    Let the application decide automatically. When in doubt, go to the software's support website and look through the FAQs.

    Usually letting it install to the default path it gives you is fine. :)

    Programs Files = 64-bit programs

    Programs Files (x86) = 32-bit programs

    In retrospect, it doesn't matter where you install it. Just as long as the application works.
