    Close Yahoo to taskbar like Live messenger

    I'm not sure if there's any way to do it but i'll ask anyways.
    I use both yahoo and live for messaging. When Live is connected it stays open in the taskbar even when the window is closed which makes it easy to navigate and change status since i keep it pinned to the taskbar. Is there a way to do so with Yahoo? With the new yahoo there's a dot on the icon to show your status if you're online or away etc... It'd be nice if i could make Yahoo function the same way as Live does when I'm logged in. So my main question is, is there any way to close Yahoo to the taskbar rather than the system tray?

    Pin Yahoo! Messenger to your Taskbar and use minimize instead of Close button

    I do that, but I'm used to closing windows mostly if its a background application. Like skype has an option to close to taskbar that we can switch on or off so it could behave like live messenger if I wanted it to.

    See if this does what you want:

    Click Messenger at the top of Yahoo Messenger> Click Preferences> Click General Category on the left> Find the section When I'm using Yahoo! Messenger> Check the box for Remove the taskbar button when I minimize the main window> Click OK

    This will minimize to the notification area. You can then choose from the normal three options.

    Notification Area Icons - Hide or Show System Icons and Notifications

    @A Guy:

    I think what he meant was Minimize Yahoo! Messenger to Taskbar when clicking the Close (X) Button from YM! UI, which there is no available options for that in the preferences.

    Why not use the Minimize button? they are just pixels apart from close button

    yes, what I meant was close to taskbar not tray. I'm asking because I see live has that option and skype has that option as well. also I'm used to just sweeping my mouse across the screen and it would just hit the close button in the corner. just a lazy thought on this.
