Unable to install fragmented Authentec TrueSuite software
Hey there everyone, I've got a tough question for the community today. I've been trying for a while now to get my Lenovo N200's AuthenTec AES2501 fingerprint scanner to work with Windows for logging in and all the other exciting things you can do with that feature. After installing countless drivers and softwares, I still haven't got it figured out and I've now got myself a half installed copy of AuthenTec TrueSuite. From what I can tell, there isn't anything left of the software except the uninstaller and the fact that Windows points a shortcut to it under the Biometric Settings. If I try to uninstall it with the provided uninstaller, the progress bar gets about 5% of the way through and an error box pops up reporting that it "Fail to get install directory or system directory", in those words. After you click "ok", the uninstaller exits and has no effect.
I have tried going at it from the stock Windows "add n remove programs" page, CCleaner's software removal, and "PC Decrapifier" which was recommended to me by somebody on the Lenovo community forums. Is there any other way to uninstall this other than a new installation of Windows (which I'd rather not do at this point)?
Thanks.
