    MSXML4.dll failed to register.

I need msxml 4.0 for FSX. FSX wouldn't install because if this program. I have run sfc /scannow and run antivirus scans. When I try to install this program manually I get this error:

Please check this Microsoft article for a possible solution.

If you have fixed the problem, please let us know what the solution was as it will help others with a similar issue.

I don't know how this worked, but deleting msxml4.dll out of the SysWOW64 folder, then putting another copy of msxml4.dll, then restoring the original one from Recycle Bin fixed the problem.
The only problem I have now is that I cannot install updates for it from Windows Update. I get error code 643.

    Hello Caleb,

You might see if this may be able to help with this error for .NET Framework issues. Be sure to use the part for Windows 7.

    Error codes

    Hope this helps,

Did you also try the "Fix it" there as well?

In that case, give OPTION TWO a try in the tutorial below to reset Windows Update to see if that may help.
