I am having an issue which I believe may be software related but I am unsure here. The issue is that whenever I am to load a DVD/.iso file the DVD itself refuses to launch. I can access the DVD/.iso itself and play the individual .vob files just fine, but for some reason it won't launch the damn DVD/.iso file. I was wondering if there was a setting or something I can't seem to find and switch back on.
Have yu installed any DVD program recently?, sometimes installing programs like VCL change W7 settings.
Another could be that autoplay in your windows is disabled... can you run an USB stick or something in your PC? (Autoplay menu)

Well I already checked the autoplay settings and switching those didn't do anything. I also had VCL player on for the longest time and that didn't do anything to it till recently either. But just to check I uninstalled it to see if that work and it didn't do anything.
Do you installed VMware Player 3 or older by any chance? that version in particular tends to change autoplay settings...
I have auto play disabled. I use WinCDEmu. Double click an .iso to mount it as a virtual optical drive. Then when I open SPlayer and choose play dvd it sees the .iso virtual drive and plays it. Both softwares are free. I like SPlayer quite a bit anyway. If you do try SPlayer make sure to use the Portable version as the uninstall for the installed version used to leave file association "holes". I've been using the portable for awhile. I don't know if the uninstall issue has been fixed. Other than that my only gripe is it doesn't have PGS subtitle support. But it's a nice player. Handles HD mkv, avi, mp4,m4v etc.. files easily.
Hey guy's I wanted to let you know that just now I figured it out by accident. Apparently the default launching program was set to launch Media Classic Player, I just went to the DVD file that launches it and changed it to Windows Media Player as my default and that fixed it.
