I agree with Rich and it's not needed in Windows 7.

Exactly. Any so called 'Tune-up' program will make more damage than it helps.

Both apps are by the same author as Rivatuner.

I do not believe either one supports mobile graphics though.

You don't have to have a EVGA card to use Precision
It works with any post geforce 200s series card.

I will also note that rivatuner is actually a known bsod causer in windows 7 and we see it all the time in the debug section of the forums.

I did not like afterburner, and precision is honestly updated far more often.

It's real time lowering of core and real time fan speed control are both great features.
It reliably clocks the card to full speed when needed and turns it down when it's not.
I've not had trouble with it not recognizing when to do what ever.

For browser I've been using Chromium portable. It doesn't necessarily say "portable" on it. But download the chrome_win32.zip instead of the installer. If you don't have any chrome installed then it's worth installing once to have it migrate your bookmarks etc..

Once you have chrome all set up, then you can unzip the portable in some other folder. Preferably not under Program Files. When you run it, it will pick up the bookmarks etc. from the old chrome install. Then you can remove the installed version.

Just back up your chromium folder that has the exe and the AppData local chromium folder (something like C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Chromium if you are on C: drive)

before you unzip into your chromium folder where you store the exe. If you get a bad bug just copy the saved folders back over.

I keep separate sets of folders for versions because sometimes if you try a snap shot with a newer version, then try to go back, when run it says it doesn't understand some setting made by the newer version. As long as you keep track of which folders go with which version you can back it off.

Dont touch the registry hive unless and until you are 100% sure what you are doing. That's the policy we follow.

The registry management in win 7 is actually not too bad.

The only reason I would even consider it is if you are just constantly installing and uninstalling a lot of software. If you are doing that though I would be more concerned about viruses sneaking in than registry problems.

I agree. If you feel you have to clean the Registry for that reason, make sure you back up with Restore Points and it's also good to use ERUNT to back up your registry.

Generally if something can keep your system from booting if it gets messed up, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" is a good policy. :)
