Truecrypt incorrect password or not a truecrypt volume

    Nope still dosent work I just remembered something this program called true truecrack that runs on gpu when brutforcing.     It could permantently corrupt the truecrypt containers......also discussing cracking software is skating on the edge of the forum rules.

    Do you have any other backups of the trucrypt container? If not, then I think you have exhausted all your options -- the final chance was a restoring of the header information, but as you have seen that doesn't always work.

    No I have no backup. I'm gonna try and use data recovery utility and scan for the missing partitions

    You mentioned earlier that you were on vacation in the US from Norway and I was wondering if you were using the same computer that was used to create the vaults on your external drives. I remember reading somewhere that you could experience trouble with opening vaults with another computer, especially if it was running a different operating system. Don't know if this is the case with you, but thought I would mention it.

    No I am not using the PC that I used to create the truecrypt pass for the external hardrive, I'm currently using a laptop now. But this just might work I'm travelling back home again soon so I'm gonna try that then. Thanks for the info.
