    Doc, Is that true that when your computer is turned off, you cant make or receive phone calls?

    The XP computer is and AMD 800mhz with 512mb ram.

    Basicly just use it on the network for the MagicJack & checking email.

    How do you propose to get the ANI (CID) signal from the phone line to the PC?

    Some USB modems may support CID, bu that violates your "no modem" requirement.

    Well I have a modem in my pc but I just can't find the correct drivers for it. Wanna help plz? It is a PCtel PCT789t-c to be used on Vista. Any help is appreciated.

    Looks like a really older modem, I don't see much when I do a search for Vista drivers.

    Have you tried windows update for drivers? How about compatibility mode ?

    Newer modems are pretty cheap nowadays.
