Media Player 12 - Media Streaming Issue

    Hi guys and Gals,

I've been really happy with Win7 thus far, except for the only thing that isn't currently working.

Media Streaming via Media Player 12.

Every single time I click OK, regardless of settings, it crashes explorer.

    Anyone else encountererd this problem?

Try installing the codecs pack for Windows Media Player and report back.

Instead of being a smart ass, point him to an updated version then. Just google it like I did.

At what point did you assume my ass was smarter than yours?

I simply pointed out a fact.

You suggested a product from January 2003 will fix an issue in a 2009 OS release.

I have my doubts that this is a proper solution even if I have no suggestion to offer myself.

Lol.. thanks for posting this guys.. I didn't feel like shooting down the only post.. but I also felt that a old codec pack for Win7 isn't really something I want to try..

@ Adrian>>Will try the Shark007 thing in a bit and see..

Can someone, who is running win7, maybe do me a favour please?

If you have some time, open Media Player for me, then click the "Stream" tab at the top left, then click "Turn on Media Streaming" then try and enable it, or just click "OK" and see what happens.

Mine just crashes explorer, but I don't know if it's just mine, or a general Media Player 12 issue.

    Thanks.

    .
Well I followed up on your question and switched Media player on to stream and I had to eneble it to play within my home group, and the only issue that I spotted was that I'm seeing a playback error and need to update my driver for my sound card.
    See attached.
