OneCare doesn't work with Windows 7. LoL

    Hey all,

As my first post to this forum, I first want to say hi, my name is Jared and I am running Windows 7 Pre-release 6801 that some select people got ahold of during PDC08. I find it funny since it is a pre-release beta and I thought I would start by testing it with microsofts own virus protection (I don't usually use it). But low and behold it wouldn't even install due to not being able to recognize the os. So I was able to install avast, I have to say though. Windows 7 is better then vista I have to say. Other then the mild compatibility issues with some programs.

I hope they do a public beta for Windows 7 soon so I can take part soon.

I've been told the Live 3 Beta includes OneCare for the 32-bit version, but I can't confirm it. (Avalable from Downloads - Windows Live)

I can confirm it's not there yet for the 64-bit version.

Yeah, I tried it but it actually said cannot recognize the os or something. It's kinda funny though I never use it. I just thought I would do a complete ms beta test for a change.. lol

That's suppose to be why Windows 7 ID's itself as 6.5 or something, that has certain geek bloggers in a flap. "It's just Vista 2.." According to Steven S. on 7 official blog it's so older programs don't throw a hissy fit and not recognize 7. So, to have MS One Care not recognize it is funny..

Anyway, they can't flog enough 'One Cares..' because no one cares, so they are giving it away for FREE as 'Morro'.

I'm with Avast! antivirus and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware plus SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition. And it was good ...
