After OS reinstall my Applications won't start

    Hello

Recently I had Windows crash caused by virus, when I restored my Windows back
some applications won't start, is there a way to fix this?
I believe it's caused by missing registry files
Or should I reinstall all my software? (It will take really long time)

    Thanks in advance

Welcome lordcorvin to the windows 7 forum.

How did you restore windows? If it was an image, then the applications that you installed after the image was taken will have to be re-installed.

I believe the same would be true if a System Restore Point was used.

Personally after a Virus infection, a clean install is the only way to go.

It was factory reset on Acer without removing user files.
Problem was my Windows was only infected and antivirus couldn't remove it since the location was System protected file in C:\Windows\Assembly\GAC_64\desktop.ini
I couldn't even navigate to GAC_64 to manually remove it since it was missing according to windows explorer
    So I did factory reset

I believe that you'll have to install all software that wasn't part of the factory installation.

    My sympathies.
