MSVCP100.dll is missing from my computer

    Hello friends,

I have recently installed a game for my brother but when I launch it, this error appears:

It says that some MSVCP100.dll file is missing from my computer and that's why the game can't launch. But otherwise the game is installed.
I tried googling to find this .dll file but I couldn't. Could you please help me out?
And when when I get this dll file, what on earth to do with it?

    Thank you

    Best Regards
    Stefany

^^ I did install VC++ redistributable packages and the error still appears. What could be the problem, please?

That's weird, vcredist_x86 should technically solve it. Is the game genuine? (not pirated)

If your Windows is 64 bits, remember that you have to install BOTH the x86 and x64 versions that yowanvista pointed out.

Can you confirm the dll exists in both System32 and SysWOW64? If not, let us know and we can post them here for you. If they do exist, try registering them:

Start> In search box type cmd> Right click on cmd.exe in results above and choose Run as administrator> When command prompt opens type

    regsvr32 msvcp100.dll

    Enter

Ironically the System32 dll is the x64 one, and the SysWOW64 (WOW=Windows on windows) one is the 32 bit.

Guy, just a thing. Registering is only needed for ActiveX libraries, and the C++ runtime is not one of them, so it's not necessary, simply copying to both system's will suffice. Regsvr32 will only throw the error "cannot find the entry point DllRegisterServer" for those DLLs.
