CCleaner Does Not Remove Internet Explorer History/Index.Dat

All items are checked in CCleaner which is the latest version. Ran it numerous times without success.
I always delete IE junk from "Internet Options" first, then use CCleaner to mop up. I have never used IE on my system.
    Any suggestions ?

There is nothing you need to do. index.dat will always exist.

It empties the contents of the one that seems problematical so effectively it erases it.
