How In the world do you get sliverlight to work with Windows 7

Don't use x64 version of Internet Explorer

If you have the x64 bit version of Windows 7 installed, keep in mind that Silverlight will only run in the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer. If you're trying to use the 64 bit version of IE, the Silverlight plugin won't work.
