    Hello Charles,

You should be able to right click on it's icon in the notification area on the taskbar, and click on Exit.
    Cannot open or uninstall program-taskbar.jpg
Afterwards, you should be able to uninstall this program.

    Hope this helps, :)

Can not desinstall programme because it is still running

    Hi brink,

The '' Auto power-on & Sut Down '' button is on the right side of the task bar rather than on the left (if it makes any difference). When I right-click on the button I have two options (non of which mark '' Exit '' )

    my two options are:

    a) the '' Auto power-on & Sut Down '' button

    b) detatch from task-bar

option 1: right-click gives me a) open b) execute as administrator c) detatch from
    task-bar d) properties

    option 2: right-click (nothing happens).

when I try to desinstall the programme in the configuration pannel I get a message saying the desinstalling is impossible do to the fact that the programme is still running. The problem is, is that it may be running but I cant open it in the first place so i'm stuck !

    Thanks again!

    In that case, try this:

    1. Open Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC).
    2. In the Applications tab, select the Auto Power on and Shut down task.
    3. Click on End Task.
    4. Try uninstalling program again.

Try booting into Safe Mode, then try to uninstall the program. :)

    Hi Brink,

Listen thank's, almost there. finaly i found out that what did not function correctly where the three Icons (one on my desk, one on the left side of my task bar and also one in the start up menu [ all non functional ]) However I found I had a hidden fourth functioning icon hidden on the right hand side of my taskbar ( I unhid it and the programme is finally functioning well ! Now for my next question !

The programme I downloaded was the '' Auto Power on and off ''. What I wish to do is to be able to programme my computer to shut down and restart again at a specific time However the programm tells me that If I ask it to shut down my computer it won't be able to start it back up again so what am I to do ? Put it in sleep mode ? Hybernation or what ? here are my options

Power on restart shut down lock session stand by hybernate log off close monitor

    Thanks again Brink

    That's great news Charles.

You could just set it to "Restart" for this. Restart will log off all users, then shut down and restart the computer automatically.
