[HELP] Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software.

Hey guys, I'm back, now i'm having issues with my Windows 7. This is the second time I got this problem in one month. The first time I had this problem I just backed up my files using an ubuntu live CD and then reinstalled windwos 7. But now I have lost my copy of windows 7 and thinking of making a bootable USB to install it. Here's a picture of the error.

Now, I have a plan of just doing what I did the first time this happened. I can backup and reformat and prolly install. But the thing is, I wanna know what's causing this. Is this an hardware issue? or did i just get a bad copy of windows 7? Btw, I checked my hard drives health on my Ubuntu live CD and it looks fine. So i'm ruling the hard drive of this one (Last time I used my Ubuntu Live CD to check my HDD Status, it was more or less accurate and it told me that my HDD is failing. So i replaced it.)

I'm having these problems on my HP G42 Notebook running on win7 64. So. yes, its a laptop.

Sorry that I forgot to mention that I can't boot into any of the options given like, boot in safe mode. or boot with command prompt or anything. And not at all. I don't use any registry cleaners or anything. Last thing I did was install updates prolly 2 nights ago. And then after that I noticed that booting up slowed down after the install. So I did a sys restore before windows installed the new updates.

do you have a windows repair disc?

Sadly, I don't. I lost my Installer.

You can use Hiren's BootCD to try and troubleshoot it or use Kaspersky Rescue Disk to scan for malwares. If you have another PC you can download a copy of Windows 7 or buy one from Microsoft then attempt a repair install. If it can't detect your OS (which I highly doubt) you have no choice but to do a CLEAN INSTALL.

I can't believe \Windows\system32\config\system is missing. Corruption is more likely but why twice a month? So do a checkdisk as well.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I was already able to fix this problem. I did borrow a Windows 7 DVD and repaired it. But I have a question. How can I make a Repair CD for Win 7 Ultimate 64bit? Thanks

Click Start then type "Create a System Repair Disc". You'll need a blank CD or DVD.
