    Which maintainance Program?

Ive been using Tuneup Utils for the last few years and have had zero problems with any of the versions ive used, but im wondering if there is any better ones out there that ppl know of or reccomend? or would a range of more specialised tools be better than an all in one?

    Cheers Steve

Hey Stevo77, I use CCleaner for general cleanup, and a lot of us here like the combo of MS Security Essentials and Malwarebytes for anti-virus/spyware. OTOH, if what you've been using causes no problems, then why not stick with it? You will find in general here that many people have no faith in registry cleaners, and I'd have to agree. Although I use the one with CCleaner, I'm always careful to backup the changes after I've very carefully checked what its going to remove.

I would also recommend CCleaner, but Windows 7 really does not need all the optimization programs XP did. It does a good job of maintaining itself. A Guy

I personally would recommend not using any Tuneup utilities with Windows 7.

Wow! I read the permissions agreement Tuneup Utilities wants you to accept before installing and it is really scary. They collect all sorts of personal identification information about you and your system and store it on their system for future use.

No way would I install software like that on my system. Talk about Big Brother!

I tried TuneUp and found the latest versions too invasive for regular use. Although it's a very good program, I don't like it scanning everything I do for possible optimizations. Even though It's a good program, personally I wouldn't use it, but if you want easy maintenance and moreover haven't had any problems with it, go for it.
CCleaner is a good option too, but far more limited (good point is that it's free).

BTW, I don't buy at all that "Win7 doesn't requires maintenance, it cares for itself". It's really a marketing trick with no technical support or background at all. My personal experience tells the opposite.

Really? Often programs in their privacy policy says the opposite, but if it's so, it's not good at all. Anyway, a good firewall may prevent the TuneUp calling home and block the connection right away.
You're also one of the first people I know about that actually read the licence of programs instead of just click "I accept" hehehe

I've used nothing but Ccleaner, Auslogics Defragger, and my anti-malware/Anti-virus programs and have not had one, I repeat NOT ONE system failure with 7. My machine is as fast or faster than the day I bought it too.
