    2 things to try:

Make sure Skype is closed> Press the Windows key + R (Windows key is the key with the windows logo "flag") on it> When the Run dialog opens type %appdata%> Enter> Find the Skype folder and rename it to Skype_old> Restart Skype and try to connect

If that doesn't work, Skype uses Internet Explorer, Try clearing IE's cache

Open IE> Tools (Gear icon upper right)> Internet Options> General> Browsing history> Delete button

See if that helps. A Guy

Could it possibly be firewall preventing web access?

There is a new version, perhaps try updating? I'm not familiar with Skype as I don't use it, will it connect from safe mode with networking?
