    Adobe Fireworks CS3 issue

    Hello to all.

I have an issue with my Fireworks CS3-Installation under Windows 7 Business:
When I star Fireworks, I can not choose any tools on my tool-bar. The other menues work fine.
Sometimes the toolbar works and after several minutes I have the same effect. Restarting the programm is the only way to get back the functionality of the tool-bar.

I have the same issue on different machines. One has a clean install, the other an upgrade-installation from Vista Business.

Does anybody have the same problems?!?

    Thank you in advance,
    Tobse.

I'm having this same issue, identical behavior. It seems to be linked somehow to the Window manager, if I don't move or resize the Window, the toolbars keep working.

Only solution I've found thus far is to upgrade to CS4.

Try running it in compatability mode. Fireworks CS3 never got along well with Aero.

You know, everyday I learn something. I actually started a thread about compatibility mode. And, in that thread, I stated: "compatibility mode has never helped me with anything".

Because of that predisposition, I never even tried it.

Well now. Compatibility mode solved this problem. The program seems to run fast and clean.

Thanx, Kencelot. I can now see the value in compatibility mode. Now if I could only get my foot out of my mouth. LOL

    Thanks a lot, Kencelot.

It seems that the compatability mode fixed this issue for me, too.

    Thumbs up on compatibility mode

I've been trying to figure this out for a couple of days now, but compatibility mode did the job. I actually haven't had any problems for months, then it just sort of popped up. Also, it seemed like I had more problems when Firefox was running vs. when it was off. Very strange.
