    DVD burning

I have not done any DVD burning except for bootable disks so am at a loss at what to pick for software - preferably free - to copy some old and newish DVD's as take away copies.

So can anyone please suggest some software that might suit as a Google lists a cast like Ben Hur and I don't really know what I am supposed to be looking for

For burning DVDs that I want to watch with a DVD reader, I use DVD Flick. Has always worked for me. But read the instructions first.

You may try DVDFab HD Decrypter free version. Free DVD Decrypter,Blu-ray Decrypter from DVDFab. Get Free DVDFab products, and try out DVDFab for free.

The free version has some limitations. While it can copy full movie for sure, I am not sure whether it can copy only the main movie. You can experiment.

Then again you may not be able to copy/burn directly to a DVD. But it can create an ISO which you may then burn it to disc even with the Windows native Image burner.

If you have "difficult" DVD"s :) , then you can download and try the 21 day trial version of AnyDVD HD SlySoft AnyDVD HD. The download will be the latest updated one.

Right clicking on the AnyDVD icon on the system tray, you can only rip the full disc to hard disk (Folder) or ISO image.

EDIT: Before you write the ISO to an optical media, you can mount it on Virtual Clone Drive and check it plays OK. http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html
