    Windows 7 & CDBurnerXP

I just went to reinstall the CDBurnerXP and it takes a long time to open from when I double click on the desktop icon.Had this problem before so I thought that I would uninstall and re install it but with no luck,Just did a timer on it before posting this question It took one min to open from time of double clicking the icon.
Is this the norm for this or does it have a conflict with W7?
    Thanks.

I don't use CD BurnerXP as I now have Nero, but I've tried it in the past and didn't have any long delay with it opening. There must be some other PC problem.

You could also try the free (and popular) ImgBurn and see how it works.

I have CDBurnerXP on my PC (apart from Nero, ImgBurn, PowertoGo, Ashampoo Burning Studio 10, the latest addition being Free Any Burn.)

To answer your first question, I just clicked on CDBurnerXP and it opened instantaneously - can't even time it :) . So definitely there is some problem with your PC.

Free Any Burn is an easy to use, light weight program. You may try it. The Official Free Any Burn Website

And "Yes" . Right on the opening screen you will have the tab "Burn Audio CD from MP3/flac/ape..."

jumanji. Many thanks for your input,Regarding my pc as you said that the CDBurnerxp works fine with you.
All other programs are working fine except CDBurnerxp just cant understand it,Anyway my wife brought her laptop home earlier on so I decided to have a go with CDxp on her laptop and get the same results as on my desktop.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this as its slow on both pc's.
But looking at your link I will have a go at that later on.
Many thanks for your input much appreciated

    Hi Daiol ...oooops....trendy :),

It is strange that CDBurnerXP has the same delayed start on both the machines.

I would suggest that you redownload the software from the author's website CDBurnerXP: Downloads .

Uninstall your existing version completely from the machine using Revo Uninstaller - freeware Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems , reboot and do a fresh install . Check whether it resolves the problem.

As far as audio CD burning is concerned almost all burners can do it but ease of use is what matters. You may try all the free burners and choose the one that you prefer. Experimentation is the key to find what suits you best.

I just downloaded CDBurnerXP from the link jumanji provided and it installed and works fine. No problems. When I click to open the application, it opens immediately.

As suggested uninstall the program with Revo Uninstaller, then RESTART the PC BEFORE attempting to reinstall it again. If you uninstall something and don't restart there can still be fragments loaded and the original problem can still be there.
