Run DxDiag and click on the Display tab. What information is shown on that tab? Are the graphics drivers upto date as well?

BUMP.. i have the same issue

it shows me the same error and i did reinstall directx using the provided links.. its still WONT WORK !!
srsly isnt there any some sort of a magical "directX REinstaller" cuz the installer i just downloaded did nothing.. i accepted the agreement, declined BING (for real?? even here?) its initializing and just closes (my guess, its just checks if there is directx and NOT if its fully operational.. and that frustrating as hell !!!
guys please all i ask is some kind of a full reinstall

Run SFC /SCANNOW which runs the System File Checker program and scans for any corrupt or missing files, including DirectX files.
Also, you need the correct graphics drivers installed for your system to make use of the DirectX system.
What graphics card or chipset do you have installed?

First I don't know where this myth came from that you can uninstall DirectX (DX) from Windows 7, but you can't. DirectX11 is integrated into Windows 7, which means it can’t be removed. So if you've used some unauthorized program to "uninstall DX", that more than likely IS the problem.

By the way have you seen these posts?...

    - How to reinstall DirectX 11 or repair DirectX 11
    - How to reinstall DirectX 11 or repair DirectX 11

And for general info you might check out this post - Tips on Troubleshooting Game Issues, steps 5 & 6

That said, if you did "uninstall" DX (which you can't), you may have screwed up or removed some key files which may have made things worse and now may at least require a Repair Install to fix, repair, or reinstall any broken or missing files.

Additionally, you could also have DX issues due to drivers (video/sound) not being up to date, or the game(s) not being patched.

And it would be of great help if you listed your system spec's, and also told us specifically what your issue is.

    Thanks, and Good luck.

This thread has helped me a lot to resolve my issue so I'm posting the solution. Downgrading AMD/ATI radeon drivers had crippled my DirectX/Direct3D and I had exactly same symptoms. I managed to deal with this issue by clearing my system with Display Driver Uninstaller and then installing radeon drivers again.

I posted full solution on my site.

This problem just reared its head with me immediately after the windows updates of April 15, 2015. Anything that is using DirectX 11 is impossible to load. The repairs mentioned above do not work. The software from Microsoft will not allow you to overwrite the current installation because it detects that a current version is installed.

    Dxdiag also comes up clean.

All these links direct to Windows 10 download, not anything DirectX related.
