Bill, I was not trying to criticize your post. It was just a further clarification.
No worries Wolfgang, I understood that, I just assumed the OP knew this, but wanted it to list like XP did

@ Layback Bear: yeah... you missed the WHOLE point. You OBVIOUSLY know NOTHING of "Folder Size". So why you commenting?

@ whs. you also know NOTHING of what i am talkling about. So why are you responding?

@ TwoCables - so WHAT is your solution?

I mean c'mon fellas, don't try for "kudos"... i am looking for a solution.

None of you have hit the mark considering a "solution" to my question.

You all are obviously unfamiliar with Folder Size.

If you don't calm yourself down, you might find yourself "unfamiliar with this forum". Find some manners - people volunteer their own time to help others, like you, here. Show some respect.

If you hover over the folder, it shows you the size. I find that to be most practical because it works with any view.
    Hi Wolfgang,

Just tried out hovering over folders to check the size, and this is what I got.

Folder Size for Win 7-pfiles.png Folder Size for Win 7-users.png Folder Size for Win 7-windows.png

The first one (Program Files) is fine and I can live with the second one (Users -> larger than 1.63 GB),
but the third one (Windows -> larger than 5.28 MB )

Is there anyway to show the correct size of folders ?

The Windows folder is very large. That's probably why it gives this funny answer. Just right click on it and go to Properties. There you'll see the correct size. Mine is 22.5GB. This is what I get when I hover.

Thanks. Just wanted to know on what basis Windows defines a folder as "Large", 'cause the Users folder is 2.33 GB and Windows is 8.26 GB and I get "larger than 1.63 GB" and "larger than 5.28 MB" for them. Must be one of those unanswered questions on Windows :)

My Users folder shows as 5.71GB. Only my Windows folder gives me that "larger than" response. I use Large Icons, maybe different views show different? A Guy

I don't know why, but mine always tells me the size when I mouseover any folder. For example, I have a folder that's 53.0 GB and when I mouseover it, it says that it's 53.0 GB.

    I never see "larger than...".
