found a folder of akamai net something in msconfig and deleted. need you to look at this screenshot. it's found something inside a folder. it looks to me that i can delete the whole folder because its only the one file in there but i want to be sure.

should i delete that folder its in or just the file?

You could delete the folder . That is what is running inside msconfig . If delete the folder that is highlighted then click on F3 does it find any more Akamai items ?

yes! found quite a few more. there were more folders in that "components" folder, and then in the firewall area there were a few in there. i only deleted the files that directed to "akamai" anything. lots of them were directing to what im guessing was the akamai folder that was in the appdata folder before i uninstalled the program.

Delete anything it locates for Akamai . You may Delete the ones for the Firewall as well . It just adds the program to the exception area so it could by pass the Firewall .

i deleted everything it found for akamai and then rebooted. the network is still taking longer than it should to connect. its still almost a full minute. i'm connected to my router, which is connected to my modem. its been like that forever and this never happened before.
