Look at your system specs. You might be a snob. Well I might be too. Not everyone is so well off these days. The idea, when media foundation was made was to counter set-tops. In doing that Microsoft made "Major Miracle" -- a computer that you might consider "crap" can run 1080p -- consider an Atom powered netbook. 7 can't fix that with Intel's hamstring but look at the Ions -- 7 on an Atom with an Ion can play HD.
Now you have a God box. But consumer equipment plays almost as well for these purposes? I say, let them eat cake.
That does not change the facts, that I don't miss any OS advancements, and that I still can use KMPlayer without any troubble. Why should I use another player, when my PC don't have a problem with the current one? People with an Atom Netbook that want's to see 1080p might want to get or buy a player that can help them, but I still don't see, why I can't be happy for KMPlayer.
I love my Winamp & use VLC/WMC (WMP classic) all depending on what i want. Hate using Itunes but have a 3GS so have to use it from time to time :/
