Windows 7: dllhost.exe after installing Windows Live ID

dllhost.exe after installing Windows Live ID

Yesterday I updated GFWL, after not using it for more than a year. To my surprise, it installed something called Windows Live ID, which added a service called Windows Live Sign-In Assistant, and since then I seem to always have dllhost.exe running with these parameters. I've set the service to only start manually but every time I start up the PC, the dllhost process still appears. Is there any way to stop it from running unless I run Live, or do I have to uninstall the Live ID to make it go away?

Take a look inside msconfig's Startup tab

Click on the button type in MSCONFIG inside the Search programs and files box . When msconfig comes up inside the Start Menu press the [ENTER] key . On the User Access Control window click on the Yes button . On the System Configuration window click on the Startup tab and uncheck everything except for your Anti-virus software . Click on Apply and Ok then click on the Exit without restart button and restart the PC manually .

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Gave it a go, didn't work. After some pondering, I decided to go ahead and uninstall it (as much as I hoped I won't have to) and see what happens. As expected, the process no longer comes up. Oh well, I only need it to play Batman Arkham City, not going to keep it afterwards. Recap: installing Windows Live ID causes dllhost.exe to start on every boot with Identity Store attatched. Unsintalling WLID gets rid of it.
