    Start menu/search problems

i have a bit of a problem with my start menu search when i try a search i get a error box saying "windows security" files can't be opened (as in pic) i dont have any results only greyed out "program" which when clicked i get the security box pop up.
i have troubleshooted the problem with windows indexing troubleshooter but no change i have not installed a program as of recent to cause this i'm running microsoft security essentials and can't find anything in it to suggest its stopping searches and i have the firewall set to default. any help will be much appreciated.

What are your current security settings inside the Internet Options control panel? It sounds to me like there's some setting in there that needs to be changed.
