    XPerf

Microsoft Windows Performance Toolkit (aka xperf) does not show process names on Windows 7, only its IDs.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

I have been facing the same problem.
Are you able to view the traces using -i and -a?
Are you able to convert the traces into xml format?

    Solution

Use the latest xperf 4.5 from windows 7 SDK

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

download the ISO and extract \Setup\WinSDKTools_amd64\cab1.cab file from the iso

you will find the 3 MSI installs for xperf.

It worked for me and for many others too.
