MSE related problem

    I've never used ebay, the pc was custom built and installed by a friend. So is the problem rooted in the copy of the OS?

    That is correct SunFlowerSeeds. You need to install a correct and legal copy of Windows 7. That is the place to start.

    Is there any temporary fix or a way around this issue because I'm can't really get hold of an OS right now.

    You can find an Builder's OEM copy of Win7 for around $90 at a major retail site like Newegg.com or Amazon.

    Until then you could install a Linux distro which is free and well liked by many users, including those who help here.

    We can not help you except on how to install a legal copy of Windows or another legal operating system.

    The installation is counterfeit.
    he Product Key is for a preinstalled Windows 7 on an ASUS motherboard - the motherboard here is a retail (MSI?) one, and has never seen the inside of an OEM factory.

    The OP will have to reformat and reinstall using legitimate media and Key.
