ProduKey Windows Key, Wrong Version of Windows?

Hello, I just used ProduKey to get a Windows 7 Home Premium Key off of a hard drive with a corrupt OS. However, when I try to activate Windows with this key, it tells me that it is a key for the wrong version of Windows. I installed W7 Home Premium, 64x, and updated to SP1. The ProduKey key says that it is for W7 Home Premium, SP1. I don't know why the key is not working. Could the bit version matter? ProduKey doesn't tell me the bit version. Thanks in advance.

The produKey software shows the OEM SLP key that is the key OEMs use to image the pcs . You would need to use the COA key which is found under the battery or on the bottom of the laptop .

Hi, actually this PC came with Vista OEM. The Vista code is on the bottom of the computer. However Windows 7 was added by the previous owner. ProduKey gave me the W7 key while the sticker has the Vista key. I wanted to reinstall 7, and I know this W7 key is not OEM. Any more ideas?

Lets see what the key is

Please download MGADiag and save it to your desktop.

Double click icon on your desktop.

    Click on the button

    Click on the button

Paste the log inside the box . Highlight all of the text then code wrap by pressing on the # icon on the top .

If you still have the hard drive, you can use Belarc Advisor or Speccy.

Probably the default key since it didn't accept your key you were trying to put in.

Alright, I will. Does that require talking to someone or just an automated thing? Also, is there a generic Windows 7 ISO (no associated version) I could try reinstalling with if neccessary?
