alright so i have daemon tools pro but it seems that it cuases my computer lots of blue screens. so i havent put it back on my pc since ive redone it and i have no problems so far as of now been a week. but i need a software that less likely to cause an BSOD i'm looking at some what would you guys recommend i'm looking at power iso and magic iso

Also IsoBuster will install as freeware with the paid features disabled. I think you can enable them on a trial basis. It depends what you need to do. IsoBuster has been rock solid for me. But my needs in this area are light. I too abandoned deamon tools after a certain version where stablility became a problem. If you have licenced deamon it might be worth a try to mess with various versions if it lets you install old versions. Seems to me I remember some versions after I first noticed problems, were pretty stable. Which version works best for you may vary by machine.

Can I mount a DVD ISO or BD ISO in IsoBuster and play those?
There are free DVD iso mounters. I haven't used IsoBuster in awhile. Mostly I used it for data recovery. There's a gigantic tools list on www.videohelp.com. It's a great resource for video software, hardware etc.. Many forums for help if you get stuck on topics from BluRay conversion to subtitle creation.

I brought this question because IsoBuster is not the answer to OP's query on Virtual CD software. I was wondering how it is related.
And I just wanted to know whether I am missing something since I have the licenced pro version of IsoBuster which at best is only a data recovery software. The only other feature I came to know of IsoBuster is it can be used to create ISO images of non-copy protected optical discs.

For Windows 7 Alcohol52% Free edition IMO is the simplest and most reliable piece of Virtual CD / DVD mounting software. Windows 8 has a built in Virtual CD / DVD mounter -- standard with the OS.

Works fine too if you've copied a DVD to an HDD with a program like AnyDVD - alcohol52% will mount the HDD iso and you can play your DVD identically as you would with physical DVD's with your DVD playing software such as VLC etc.

If you say so. It was an alternative to Deamon Tools for me. I stopped using Deamon Tools for the most part after noticing the instability mentioned a few years back. I really didn't see anything in the first post about mounting BluRay discs or anything of that nature. So I don't really underand your objection. Besides, a couple of suggestions for media handling type programs were already made. I guess the question is more in the line of why I didn't keep silent? That what it sounds like. :)
All the virtual CD emaluator software are too some extent troublesome. One thing is common in them, they put some SCSI adapter there which makes the system BSOD prone in turn. Daemon tools is the most problematic one, and Alcohol products are as good as Daemon tools, as it uses the legendary SPTD.
The best way is to use either Winrar (it charges a little) or 7-zip. Both of them can extract any form of disc image files, so the basic job will be equally done. What you will miss is the autorun ... and what you will gain is a BSOD free computer.
