    Server Execution Failed

    Hello All,

I have a custom built PC, my specs are up-to-date. I'm have an issue with large video files (playing, editing and recording). When opening the videos in Windows Media Player, I randomly get a pop-up Windows message saying Server Execution Failed. The OS is on my 120GB SSD, while the video files are located on a 2TB Seagate HDD. Furthermore, when recording video files (with FRAPS), my computer freezes up randomly after anywhere from a few seconds to minutes into a recording, and seems to be fine after that. I have checked for/updated my drivers as well.

-I'm not sure if this thread is in the correct location.

Thank you in advance for your input.

EDIT: I'm impatient by nature, so I went ahead with a clean install of Windows 7. The Server Execution Failed message seems to have gone away, however I tried a short (15 minute) recording of a video game (Java based) with FRAPS recording software, and I still encounter the annoying freezes. There are no software updates available that I'm aware of, does anyone have any ideas?

In prior (and current) searches, Fraps is well known to cause these freezes. One suggestion is to set the framerate, and the other is to record in half size.
