hi waleroo, welcome to seven forums,

do you really need adobe reader?

or do you just want to be able to read pdf files?

my suggestion is to uninstall adobe reader completely, and try the free version of foxit reader instead - it's free, works fine in x64 and opens up pdfs much faster than adobe reader - give it a go!
