    Clean out 'Preinstalled' programs?

I know this is kinda late since I've had this PC since Feb.2012 but need to ask anyway.

When I got this machine I did make the suggested Recovery Disks but as far as I know, they were made with the built-in burner (if that's the correct term?). I've never made any 'back ups' since but do realize I really need to get it done.
My actual question is about Nero that came pre-installed: would it be best to get rid of it & use the built in one? As you can probably tell, I'm not computer smart so am not sure of best way to uninstall Nero since there's 5 of them in the list. Would I have to click on each one or is one of them 'the main one' which would then remove all?
Without taking another look at my list of programs, I think there are others that I'll want to get rid of too that have more than one listing.

    Hope this post makes sense,
    Thank you

After all it comes down to personal preference and what do you know to use better. I would say that you need to see if you actually use Nero, and if not, it's probably a good thing to get rid of it, but if you frequently use and are comfortable with it, why change?

My personal preference is to always delete things I won't use, so if Nero is just sitting there, uninstall it. No idea why it has 5 entries there, but try to start with what seems the "main" suite (the "express" and "multimedia suite" appears the most) and if not works, just delete the other 4 one after another.

The built-in CD burner in Windows is pretty limited in my view, compared with anything else, but can get simple things done of course. If that's enough for you, again, why change? Nero seems too bloated in recent versions, I would not keep it in my opinion.

Almost all machines come preloaded with a lot of bloatware. We have many fine tutorials here at the forums, written by some very knowledgeable people. Heres one to help you if you want to take a look. Just click on the link.

If you're just uninstalling a particular program you could try Revo (free) in advanced mode and that should take care of it for you.

You are looking at the sub components of the program, that's just how Hero is. Personalty I like Nero, the oem nstalled version should have more options than the Windows imbedded burner program. I always burn at the slowest speed possible, never make a coaster that way.

Usually just uninstalling Nero creates problems. You need to run the Nero Removal Tool. Just google it and you should see the download page.
