CorelDRAW X6 freezes up entire system on opening
I've been using CorelDraw X6 (Win 7/64-bit) without any major issues for over a year now. Suddenly, a few days ago, I went to resume a project I had been working on the night before and my entire system froze up—mouse, keyboard, everything—a few seconds after clicking the .cdr file to open it (splash screen hadn't even had a chance to pop up). I had to do a hard shutdown and reboot. Tried it again—same thing. Tried opening the program directly from the start menu—again, same thing.
It turns out all programs in the CDX6 suite all now freeze up my system completely when I attempt to open them; Draw, Photo-Paint, Font Navigator, all of them. I can't reinstall or uninstall it either because that freezes up my system too. All X6 patches and updates have been installed and were working fine until this happened a few days ago. My Windows 7 is up to date as well. No other programs outside of the X6 suite are giving me any problems.
I've cleaned out my Temp files, did a sfc /scannow, a system restore (going back 4 days before the issue), a hard drive scan, defrag, nothing works.
Someone in the Corel help forum suggested uninstalling and reinstalling .NET Framework 4 which I did and the update logs indicate it was installed successfully, but it didn't resolve this issue.
Any ideas?
