Looking for a helpdesk soultion or advice

    Hey Guys,

I'm looking around for a help desk software to install at work to do a specific job. That is, for example, if a user has a problem lets say he/she can't print, they would be able to click on a shortcut or link that would send me an email to a specified email address so that they won't have to physically have to meet me to report the problem. Would like if the email or 'request for assistance' be automated and the user not have to type up a ticket or anything.

Does anyone have any advice on software that can do this or something similar?

    Regards

Although there may be something around like what you want, I've never seen it. I use to be the Regional LAN/WAN Network and Hardware Help Desk Manager for a US government agency. We had some intelligent help desk software, but that was for the help desk techs. If a remote user (99% of the users we supported) had a problem, they would have to call the help desk.

It sounds like you just need a shortcut to send an email to a specified address? See if something like this would do

Create Shortcuts or Hotkeys to Quickly Send Mail to a Recipient
