Ashampoo Burning Studio v12 Vs v11

I'm hoping someone here is using Ashampoo Burning Studio 12 (the full version, not what they call ABS 2013) and can comment on what, if any improvements have been made compared with v11. I have 11 and an opportunity to get 12 at a deeply discounted price, but I would like there to be at least one difference that seems worthwhile other than the slightly revised UI :)

ImgBurn works and it is free. It is not always the most user-friendly program, agreed, but that is nothing a 3-second Google search can't fix.

This information was taken from their website.

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of ImgBurn and do use it when I wish to have complete control over CD-TEXT. I also use CDBurnerXP. Ashampoo Burning Studio doesn't do anything these other programs can't do, but I like the UI and I appreciate your posting the stated improvements from their website. The faster loading time may be worth the upgrade as version 11 is a bit slow.

After you have purchased the new version and tested it, post back and let us know if the speed has improved.

Yes, the initial loading speed of Ashampoo Burning Studio 12 is significantly faster than version 11. There are also some nice tweaks to the interface. The features are exactly the same AFAICT. I would really like to see them add support for CD-TEXT when burning audio CDs - that's the only thing it lacks for my purposes. I think you can install it with a trial license if you want to test it.

    Thanks, for the update.

Glad to hear your happy with their newest version.

I may give their software a test, as you suggested.

Try asking their tech support why there is no support for CD text while burning.

    Best Regards!

Actually I've already asked them about CD TEXT support - they said it couldn't be implemented because it was "device specific". That doesn't seem to be true since it's an option in both ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP, but whatever.

Looks like they've updated the UI again but still no CD TEXT.

Hmmm...I did email their support back then. Their response was they would let their programmers know. Not sure, why they will not add this feature. All I can suggest is to try to contact them yourself, perhaps you may get more information.

    Thanks, for the update,
