Assuming that you are installing the proper version of Flash, which would seem to be true as you have a plugin for Firefox, about the only things I can think of to try would be to first run Firefox in safe mode, and if that does not work, then to try creating and testing a new Fx profile.
I've no idea about Opera, having never installed it. Safe Mode does not disable plugins, but extensions can cause problems with plugins: Safe Mode - MozillaZine Knowledge Base You might also try disabling all other Fx plug ins; not likely to help, but won't hurt to try. Profile Manager - MozillaZine Knowledge Base If none of those tests work, then I can only suggest that you try mzillaZine, where there are many experts available to assist: Index page ? mozillaZine Forums |

I used to get the same problem with Chrome a while back. But it has stopped happening. My guess is one of the Chrome updates fixed something. Why bother with FireFox anyway?

Firefox culprit for "reduced leading" in PREFS.JS: FLASH PLUGIN!!! As I continued to try and chase down my "reduced leading" problem whenever I visited certain forum web sites and then closed/re-opened Firefox, I carefully compared my PREFS.JS from a "perfect, working" copy vs. what PREFS.JS looked like right after closing the very first Firefox session after... |

IE9 & Adobe Flash "Square" only in compatability mode? I was on gamespot, trying to watch a video about a racing video game. I noticed that the video only played in the compatibility mode. If I wasn't in that, it just said I had to have adobe installed. |
