Windows 7 Easy Transfer installation problem
Hi,
First post coming up.... I have created a profile snapshot, using Windows Easy Transfer (WET) on a 32bit XP machine and have placed the resulting file on a network drive. I then went to my new 64bit W7 pc and downloaded what I believed to be the correct WET version - wet7xp_x64. However, when I ran the executable I received a message "The version of Windows you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install." I'm running W7 Pro SP1 and have Sophos installed. However Sophos didn't have a problem on the XP machine so don't think it's that. Any thoughts anyone? |

Hi Andy, welcome to the Seven Forums.
You don't need to install WET on Windows Seven, it's built-in. Just type Easy Transfer on Start Menu > Search field to find it. Kari |

Kari,
That's perfect - and so obvious! - if you know the answer. Image successfully transferred. Many thanks for your response. Andy. ![]() |
