    how to uninstall "photostage"

I would like to uninstall this program as I NEVER use it. It is not listed in my programs menu as either Photostage or Softronic so I can't uninstall from there. Does anyone have any experience with this program?

    Hi,

    1. you can go to control panel > programs and features> search the list of programs installed> select photostage or softronic> click on uninstall.

    2. Delete registry entries of PhotoStage CAREFULLY

    *HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PhotoStage
    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PhotoStage
    3. Search throughout the hard drive and delete all associated files

    *C:\Program Files\PhotoStage
    *C:\Documents and Settings\A\Application Data\PhotoStage

    As above, except.

If your not quite sure about Deleting the Registry Keys, i will suggest you use CCleaner to clean up your registry. It checks each key for association, if none are found it gives you the choice to remove them. It also gives you the choice to save a backup in case of any errors.

Thank you both. With regard to locating Photostage in my programs menu, as I stated, it is not there listed as such. Today I went back into programs menu and see there is a Dell Photostage with Arcsoft as the "publisher". Would this be the same? If not, I will try the Revo uninstaller as mentioned above. With regard to the registry clean up, not sure how this would affect the Photostage removal process. I am also not comfortable with messing with registry and I have read somewhere on this forum, that some people have had problems with CCleaner after it gets into their registry. Am a little hesitant to use it for that although I do use it to periodically clean out other files after analysis. Thanks again.

Googling may help. It looks like Dell Photo Stage is software from Arcsoft that come with some Dell machines. I know Arcsoft is a legit company, I have stuff from them in the past.

I have never had any trouble running CCleaner's registry cleaner, in fact I would like it to be a bit more aggressive. It leaves keys that are no longer needed but that's not harmful if the program is gone.

Did you check in the Programs and Programs x86 folders?

Using Revo will clean the registry too and gives options for how aggressive you want, I use the Moderate setting.
