    Malwarebytes

I recently started using Malwarebytes. I have used Macrium for a long time. With Macrium it seems the free version does the job. It lets you do most everything needed, while Malwarebytes does not let you schedule a scan with the free version which I consider a must for a software of that type. Do any of you use the pay Malwarebytes or do you just use the free one and do manual scans?

    Hi bigmck,

I've been thinking about this for a while, ever since I read about Malwarebyte's command line.

I haven't tried this yet, but I was going to use a scheduled task to periodically run a command line Mbam.

Looked on Mbam site for the options - not found there. I knew I saw them and was about to try mbam.exe /?
when i saw help in the malwarebytes folder. That's where the command line options are.

You'll probably do this before I do, I'll be interested in the results.

    hope that helps.

I run the Pro version with realtime protection on. It does auto updates and I can schedule scans. I run it with Norton IS and they work great together.

I use the Pro version and it's a mandatory product,
Had it for 3-4 years and it's great/ Lifetime license is cheap and does not expire,
    Well worth it,
    Cheers.

That is very inexpensive. I'll consider it, might even buy two and get the volume discount - give one license to a daughter. That's not going to work... better give it to a son-in-law.

I also have the paid version, and think its a worthy investment.

Be careful when buying MBAM Pro: the lifetime licenses are going away soon. You can still get the lifetime license directly from MBAM but I wouldn't wait to get one. NewEgg still has the lifetime license for $5 more (the occasionally put them on sale but I wouldn't wait for that) but are also listing a three license Premium version that is good for only one year. Fortunately, once you have a lifetime license, MBAM will continue to honor it even after it stops selling them.

FWIW: I jumped on the multi machine version of malwarebytes for 3 machines for less than $50 and haven't looked back. It is a great
product and well worth the $25 for the single machine.

The paid version is a necessary tool to have.
I've been using it for years without a problem. You can transfer it from one machine to another, if you need to.
I think it is the best one time purchase for your PC.

Another vote from me for the paid version being an essential part of any PC install.

Here's our affiliate link to the lifetime license (SF gets 30% commission) - Malwarebytes Pro
