    ok. i reinstalled the os. and got the important stuff back. windows update didn't work. btw, i reinstalled with dell data safe local backup... any idea"s?

    I don't know what all happens when a person re-installs "with dell data safe local backup". It appears that it just put your computer in the same flawed state that it was in before.

    You might want to try the steps in this tutorial:
    Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

    Or you might want to make a new thread in this forum:

    Well.. thanks for trying to help me guys, it means a lot but it just doesn't work. so i will get a pc within my $750 budget. ,... but if you have another idea please go on ahead and comment. who knows it might work!
