Yes it is looking good. Is your Office 2000 the Pro version. I am using Office 2013 Pro as I need Access, Excel, OneNote & Outlook but really don't use many of the others much these days, but it was really only a few dollars more to get the whole program than to try & get it piecemeal.
Actually I am surprised that Office 2000 will work with Win 7, but your indication seems to suggest otherwise.
Thanks jadinolf for that info & it fits in with my original post on Java being needed for Open Office's database, which they call Base. So if you use their Base program you have to have Java installed. That's not the reason I uninstalled it though, it was that I just could not seem to get into the right frame of mind to persevere with it.
I hope all works out for you with Office 2000.
I have OO latest version 4.0.1 and do not have java installed.
The help file opens with no problem at all.
