    iTunes Will Not Open

Whenever I attempt to open iTunes I receive this message:

The iTunes application could not be opened. You do not have enough access privileges for this oepration.
I have uninstalled and re-installed itunes and the same message exists. I am the only user on the machine (as a result I am the admin for the machine). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

TDD, re-install the latest version V9.01 as administartor.
Put your mouse over the installer, right click mouse and you will see a drop down menu and you will see "Run as Administrator" and it will install.

Just an update guys - it had something to do with administrator rights, but I am not certain, because I made a mistake, and was attempting two solutions at once - don't know what fixed it. I do believe it was how I had the "homegroup" settings. However I also have it in compatibility mode as well. So either way it is working fine for me. Thanks again for all the help.

I tried the suggestions listed here and still was unable to open it.
I did find a solution for anyone else who has this problem.

    First
Modify permissions for the ITunes installation directory normally (C:\Program Files\iTunes)
Right click, go to properties, security tab, advanced, change permissions for your user account, edit, and click full control, and click the check box to apply permissions to objects in the container.
Hit ok on all open windows and it may take a min to change all permissions.

    Second
Go to the folder/folders that contains all of your Itunes media normally (C:\Users\user\Music\iTunes)
Right click, go to properties, security tab, advanced, change permissions for your user account, edit, and click full control, and click the check box to apply permissions to objects in the container.

    Summary
You must have full control of the Itunes files, and ALL of the Media. The Itunes folder in My Music had lost permissions when i set up sharing to a PS3 and once i change the permissions ITunes took right off...

    Hope this helps!!!!
