new versions of simple winpe maker

Big improvements for win 7 users in new versions of simple winpe maker (below). Much improved appearance and extra functions for handling wim and split wim files. Also made adjustments to cope with MS frequent updates to win8x.

    It works on win 7/8/8.1

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/v91sg0p87x...REv21.zip?dl=0

    USAGE

    1. Download the bit version corresponding to your windows bit version.

    2. Rt click the zip>properties>unblock.apply>ok.

    3. Extract the zip, preferably onto your drive e.g. c:\RE64v7G will be the folder.

    4. Rt click and run as admin on the RE64v7g-runmeasadmin.cmd

    What it does:

    1. It looks for winre.wim on your hard drive. ( Winre.wim is the guy you get from the F8 "Repair My Computer" option. It already contains the system recovery options, like startup repair, system restore, etc )

    2. It mounts winre.wim and adds a few useful free tools and a menu.

    3. It asks if you want to make a small download of ms tools and recuva. Only about 8mb. Recommend you say yes so they can be included as well.

    4. It looks on your hard drive for the popular disk imaging and partitioning programs, if you have them, they will also be included.

    5. It unmounts winre.wim and asks if you want to make an iso. The iso will support efi and bios boot on 64 bit win7 and on both bit versions win8x. It will be bios bootable if you are running 32 bit win7.

The whole process should only take about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes ( bit longer on 8x as it is slower)

You will end up with bootable winpe iso containing your imaging and partitioning program, windows recovery options, and several useful free tools.

These are the installed programs it will look for :

    Imaging:

Aomei Backupper, Macrium reflect ( free or paid ), Paragon Backup and recovery Free ( OR any Paragon paid versions but you will need to browse for that ).

You will probably only have one of the above.

    Partitioning:

Aomei partition Assistant ( free and paid versions), Partition Guru Pro ( you can install and run pguru pro unregistered - the data recovery does not work unregistered, but the partitioning functions do, it is very, very useful )

I recommend you install both of the above.

NOTE: 32 bit users only - it will also look for Partition Wizard and Todo Backup

how is this different from Win 7 winpemaker/pe764v11.zip?i mean is it necessary to have both of these or will it be enough having just one considering pe764v11 has many other system fix utilities.

This is a simple version. Easy to make, fast, does not require the installation dvd for source files.
It contains all the tools most will need, but it it doesn't have all the fancy explorer interface, wireless, audio, video, etc you get with pe764v11. Those things are fun, but they don't really add much in terms of repair options. The simple version comes in 64 and 32 bit and works for 7/8/8.1/etc.

    pe764 is only for win7 x64.

Si. It would be helpful to indicate what is new in the versions you release.

    Need an explanation, please

    Siw2,

    Please sir,

Does this: "Big improvements for win 7 users in new versions of simple winpe maker (below)."

    1. Create a Macrium Reflect (Windows 7 (and 8)) bootable iso disc to image your PC,
    2. or just a WinPE file (about which I know nothing of)!??

If it does creat an MRFree iso:
    3. must it be run only on a win7 (or 8) pc?
    4. and is there anything else that is required to make it work?
    5. And exactly how do I make 'it' work?

There is only the Bin folder with a lot of files in it, and the Win CMD script.

Some of us need a tad more help than others and I am one of those!

    Tnx a bunch!

    Sincerely,

    CutieP

    SIW2:

Yesterday, I downloaded RE64v7G.zip and got it installed on a USB thumb drive. No problems. I was able to boot from the USB drive and examine most of the programs in it. Looks great so far.

Today, I downloaded and installed the newest version (2.0) of Malwarebytes paid product. Just to get familiar with its new interface, I decided to run all of its 3 scans. Results:

    "Hyperscan": no threats found
    "Threat scan": no threats found
"Custom scan" of C drive: 1 "potential threat" found, namely Pup.PSWtool.productkey, with a path of C:\RE64v7G\bin\x64\Program Files\Produkey.exe.

I have little idea of how significant that might be, but I thought I'd tell you.

My options were to quarantine, ignore once, or ignore permanently. I chose ignore once, so it will be picked up the next time I do another "custom scan" of C.

Note: I was running the earlier version of Malwarebytes yesterday when I installed your product. I did not get any warnings from Malwarebytes at any time, nor did I run any manual scans after installing your product. The first warning was only after I installed the new Malwarebytes and ran a custom scan.

So the issue may be due to that new version of Malwarebytes--or it could be that a custom scan with the old version would have generated a warning if I had run one.

What do you make of this and is there any reason for concern?
