Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Problems installing

    Hey guys,

I am currently a student in college for computer networking & tech support, the college provides us the licence and all the software for our courses. Although my computer says the SP1 for Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate is ready for install but when I try to install it. It gets half way through and fails. I always install all updates to make sure every thing is working correctly. As well as I have gone to the schools IT desk and they refuse to help me because it's not a computer that belongs to the college.

This is on my laptop I am using for school, the specs are Intel Core i3, ram 6GB, 750Gb HDD, Windows 8.1.

    Error Code: 13EC

Try using the real SP1 installer instead of Windows Updates:
Download Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (Installer) from Official Microsoft Download Center

note that there is a small, web based installer, and the full ISO to download the whole thing and work offline. Try both if it continues with the same error.
