Importing Business Fax # of Contacts into Win 7 fax program problem

I had some old fax numbers in Winfax 10 pro that I exported into a .csv file. Upon importing into Win7 fax & scanner program everything comes through that I selected except the Business Fax number. To test different solutions I reduced the file to only 2 contacts. Then I change the Business Fax number (+1 (949) 770-6922) format from "general" to "text" and tried to import. Still no fax number came through. I changed the mapping to place the number into the "Pager" column and that worked. Next I pasted a Home Fax number that came through into the Business Fax column and tried importing, over riding the current contact, and no number came through. What else can I do?

If I leave the Business Fax number in the "Pager" column, will the program recognize this number as a fax number and be able to fax to people?

    Update

Even when I put in a contact the Business Fax number does not show. However when I fax to that contact the fax goes through even though I show no fax number in Business or Home. It must be there but not visible, right?

So how do I get it visible?

A side question, should my phone number other than the fax number be in the canonical address format also?

I am amazed that I got no answer to my question about not seeing Business Contacts in Windows 7 Fax program. Is this a bug that is being covered up or doesn't anyone use this program?

It appears that few, if any, forum members have imported data the way that you are attempting to do.

I don't use the Windows Fax/Scan app, so I'm probably not the person to help you. But I do have a question, does the Fax/Scan app work as desired if you type the info in manually? (as opposed to importing the info)

I did try that. Just I wasn't clear so I just did it by putting in a new contact and the business fax number still does not show in my Contacts list. It is interesting that if I put the bus fax number into any other locations, like home fax or pager, it does show up.

I am really surprised that this problem did not come up before since Windows 7 has been around for years now and many businesses use it.

Is this the Contacts list of which you speak?

Sorry to keep asking questions as opposed to attempting to solve the issue...
...but at least now I think that I see the issue that you mentioned.

I've looked at the contact file using Notepad. The info is in extended xml format. I did not readily see a reason why the business fax number would not display :-(

I have Contacts in my library and when I click on it I have certain columns presented. Among them are the business phone and fax, and home phone and fax. No numbers appear in the Business Fax column but they do appear in the Home Fax column, but not in the format you show. I was told that fax numbers needed to be in +1 (949) 770-6922 format, I forgot what it is called. I tried your format, which is the same as a business phone, and still the fax number does not show in the Contact List, but I know it is there because I can use Windows Fax and send a fax to that number (it was in the special format as instructed by the program.).

Why aren't Microsoft techs seeing this problem?

I'm not sure what to suggest next or why MS has not seen/fixed this..

Maybe other forum members will stop by this thread and offer some suggestion.
